Winter Boost For Motorhome Hire Company

Ferndown, Dorset (PRWEB) March 2, 2009
Abacus, the Dorset based motorhome hire specialist, experienced a 67% increase in bookings in the 2008 Summer months compared to the previous year, proving the companies decision correct to increase its fleet of new, fully equipped 2-6 berth vehicles from 11 to a fleet of 18. Over 60% of the bookings for the Swift Sundance Lifestyle, Bolero, Voyager and the Kon-Tiki Motorhomes were for hires of 7 days or more. 15% of hires were for destinations on mainland Europe (southern France, Italy, Spain and Portugal) from their Ferndown hire centre using nearby Poole ferry terminal or alternative south coast ferry ports.
Dave Wolfenden, Managing Director at Abacus, hopes that the company can now increase utilisation during the winter months through their internet based reservation service. In February, a genuine Try Before Buy agreement was launched in association with Marquis Motorhomes who will refund the cost of a week’s rental if an invoice from Abacus is presented at the time of purchasing any of the range they stock.
“This will be our third season hiring motorhomes. Previously we have received bookings from Ski enthusiasts and those attending late sporting events. This year we expect bookings to be boosted by potential purchasers who want to test the comfort of motor homes holidaying all year round,” said Dave Wolfenden.
Founded in 1987, Abacus the £3.75 million turnover hire specialist now employs 27 personnel with a fleet of 300 vehicles. The company not only provides daily hires, contract hire and sales for cars, vans, trucks (including tractor units) motorhomes and trailers, but extensive vehicle maintenance and bespoke body building facilities.

It's tacky, because that's the audience they're playing to… people in motor homes, or with plastic covers on the furniture and lamps, and plastic crosses and other paraphenilia spread all over the place. Subtlety doesn't bring in the bucks the way tacky can.
First time view of the Blog, Marc, and I like it. I find your musings thought provoking. I'm waiting to hear how it goes with your new airplane… I suppose you'll need to wait until the wind stops blowing… so maybe I'll be waiting a long time?

I would never have thought of hiring one of those motor homes but I see them on the road all the time. How brilliant that the kids can watch TV while you're going, that is such a great idea. Looks like you all had a great time.
Take the guesswork out of scheduling vehicle maintenance. Free!

They have changed for a more darker tone, but with some humour. There is more focus on character, telling the story through the personalities. Furthermore, the consequences of everything that happened previously have had serious effects on everybody in the series – which is cool to see.More about third season when I have finished watching it.
