Another one of those hectic weeks but I suppose that has two benefits. One, you get less of my rantings on the blogger and, two, work pays for my meals so things get to be very cheap. Out of the last 5 days work has kindly paid for 4 of my meals. 2 for pleasure and 2 not quite so fun.The upshot is that my poor mother doesn’t have to suffer because of this Lent challenge. Come Sunday she should be celebrating that expensive card industry invention know as Mothers Day in the usual manner. I agree with what Garmon said earlier about the gift meaning more if it actually costs you something. Thankfully I did manage to resist to urge to put “I hope you realise I sacrificed a night out on the beers for this!” on the card. Not quite the sentiment I was going for.And, alas, it’s game over for me as well, at least for a short while. As off tomorrow I’m off the French Alps for a week’s skiing in the 3 Valleys. Now I could pretend to live off £50 (or 70 odd Euros) while I’m out there but somehow it doesn’t seem quite right talking about minimum wage as I glide down the mountains in my labelled ski-gear along with all the other middle class types. One of the more celebrated conflicts (but not so recent now I suppose) is highlighted in Chariots of Fire where Eric Liddell refused to compete in the '24 Olympics b/c his 100 metre heat was scheduled on the Sunday and instead ran the 400.

i write a lot slower when there's no spellcheck! LOLwe went by chick fil a yesterday but i guess they're closed on sundays. weird. casey said they're from back east or the south or something so they're old fashioned and honor “our day of rest”. well you know what I like to do on my “day of rest”…EAT! LOLi'll just avoid that place during the day then…LOL]]>

I don't think we are “required” to keep the Sabbath as NT believers, but we should follow God's example and keep a day of rest.Make sense?]]>
